Bristol Morgan Bank has become aware of fraudsters posing as bank employees in an attempt to obtain personal and financial information from customers.

Please remember:

  • Bristol Morgan Bank will never call, text, or email you and ask for your online banking password, debit card PIN, Secure Access Code, or other sensitive account credentials.
  • If you receive an unexpected call claiming to be from the bank and are asked to provide personal information, hang up immediately.
  • If you are unsure whether a call is legitimate, contact Bristol Morgan Bank directly using the phone number listed on our website, your statement, or the back of your debit card.
  • Protect yourself by never sharing confidential information with unsolicited callers.

NOTICE to MasterCard® ATM and Debit Cardholders

New – Beginning October 17, 2014:
Zero liability will apply to all MasterCard transactions made in the store, over the telephone, or online, as well as PIN based transactions, including ATM transactions. Cardholders will not be held responsible for unauthorized transactions if:

  • Cardholder can demonstrate that they have exercised reasonable care in safeguarding their card from loss or theft; and
  • Upon becoming aware of a loss or theft, cardholder promptly reports the loss or theft to the card issuer.

If any of these conditions are not met, the cardholder’s liability will be consistent with the Regulation E liability limits, which means the cardholder could have up to $500 liability (previously $50) if the loss is not reported within two business days of discovery, or unlimited liability if the unauthorized transaction is not reported within 60 days after the statement, which includes the unauthorized transaction is mailed.
